This particular rower uses single hydraulic piston resistance. Many rowers use two pistons, but the Stamina InMotion Rower single piston is centered between the users’ legs as they row.

This makes the unit much lighter than versions that use more than one piston and allows it to only have one single rowing arm, much like rowing an actual oar in a canoe.
